The piece addresses simulation as an attempt to controll desaster. In case of the TWA flight crash the desaster set of a spur of attempted computer simulation to give images to the unimaginable.
The crash of Lady Di was at times blamed on Mercedes Benz who is investing millions in crash simulations to anticipate the desaster and visualize to its customer the predictability of desaster. THe work then goes on to search for similar principles in the simulation of cities and urban planning.
